NASCAR Race Tracks

The Texas Motor Speedway, a 1.5 mile quad oval near Fort Worth has been part of the NASCAR circuit since 1997. Repaved before the 2006 season the track presented an entirely different surface for “The Chase for the Cup.” Brian Vickers’ 196 MPH speed vaulted the Texas track into the fastest raceway in the NEXTEL Cup. This knocked Atlanta Motor Speedway into second place. Ryan Newman had held the track record there in 2005. This race track hosted the last race in the (then) Winston Cup Series. Due to 9/11 in 2001, a delayed race took place at Homestead, New Hampshire.

Since 2002, Homestead has hosted the last race in all three of NASCAR’s top touring divisions. Not only is it fast, but it provides two and three groves for some very competitive racing. The smooth and wide racing surface at Michigan International Speedway is perfect for NASCAR. As long as the green flag waves, fuel mileage and pit strategy become critical to making victory lane. The way the seating is arranged there are very few seats that don’t provide a superb view of the race. Lowes Motor Speedway is at the center of NASCAR.

A large majority of teams are based within 30 miles of this Charlotte, NC track. Since 1960 the Speedway has been home to some legendary races. The World 600, now the Coca-Cola 600, has been a staple on Memorial Day from the track’s opening. Famous for the NEXTEL All-Star Race this race has a non-points shootout format only for the fan's enjoyment and excitement.
